We're in search of a highly proficient and meticulous Accountant with specialized knowledge in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) procedures to become a valuable part of our team. As an Accountant specializing in AML, your role will entail ensuring adherence to regulatory mandates and establishing robust mechanisms for detecting and preventing money laundering activities. Your pivotal function will involve preserving the financial integrity of the organization while mitigating the risks associated with money laundering.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform AML risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and formulate suitable control measures.

  2. Devise and put into effect AML protocols, processes, and internal checks to guarantee compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.

  3. Remain updated on the latest AML regulations, guidelines, and industry developments to maintain the organization's contemporary and compliant practices.

  4. Scrutinize and assess financial transactions, customer accounts, and client operations to spot suspicious or potentially illicit conduct.

  5. Probe and document questionable transactions or activities, including gathering evidence, conducting interviews, and preparing reports for regulatory authorities as necessitated.

  6. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as legal, compliance, and risk management teams, to seamlessly integrate AML policies and procedures into the overarching organizational structure.

  7. Conduct periodic reviews and audits to gauge the effectiveness of AML controls, pinpoint deficiencies, and recommend enhancements.

  8. Offer guidance and training to staff regarding AML compliance requisites, reporting obligations, and the significance of recognizing and reporting suspicious activities.

  9. Maintain precise and comprehensive records of AML-related activities, encompassing transaction monitoring, investigations, and reporting, in alignment with regulatory mandates.

  10. Assist in external audits and regulatory examinations linked to AML compliance, including addressing inquiries and furnishing requested documentation.

Qualifications:

  1. Possess a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) are highly advantageous.

  2. Demonstrate a track record of working as an Accountant with a dedicated focus on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance.

  3. Exhibit substantial knowledge of AML regulations, including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, and pertinent recommendations from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

  4. Familiarity with industry-specific AML requisites, especially those applicable to banking, financial services, or other regulated sectors.

  5. Showcase exceptional analytical skills and an acute attention to detail to effectively identify and investigate suspicious activities.

  6. Possess a sound understanding of financial systems, databases, and tools used for transaction monitoring.

  7. Display strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities.

  8. Exhibit the capability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and professionalism.

  9. Embrace a proactive mindset, displaying the ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  10. Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing accounting software, the MS Office suite, and other relevant tools.
